Shenker et al can go to hell. _ (Empty) Tankard Drinking and fucking through the whole night long Partying with friends [...]  Spotted by one of Waspsnest Estonian co-conspirators, a great piece of experimental black metal which is unlike anything I have heard before and all the better for it – excellent stuff! _ Whilst trawling YouTube (more on why later), I came across this rendition of a seventeenth century folk song which gives a idea of what Winter evenings in those times would probably consist of – a roaring fire, song and, probably, beer, beer and more beer (ok the latter is my idea of these things [...] Apocalyptica, possibly better known for their classical covers of metal tracks (see below for the second video – cover of a Metallica track), also have a fine line in pieces of their own – Farewell being a damned fine example of their work. There is something about the cello sound that just works, both [...] Death Letter Blues – Son House original and the White Stripes cover. Do enjoy! (If you really can’t bear to watch Son House at work because it seems too old fashioned, skip right to the White Stripes cover – it kicks serious ass) _ [...] Sent by one of The Waspsnest’s Estonian co-conspirators, this rendition of J S Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in d minor played on the Leżajsk pipe organ (one of Europe’s largest). The range of the organ is amazing; if you have a good amp and large woofers, watch out that you don’t shake something loose [...] AC-DC from 1975 with Baby please don’t go – Bon Scott as a schoolgirl is rather amusing to say the least. _ One from the Waspsnest’s Estonian co-conspirators, this excellent experimental/jazz/metal mixture by Shining from Norway. The track is called Fisheye and is from their album Black Jazz. Do enjoy. _ Somewhat different from my usual tastes but all the better for it, the video was spotted by one of my Estonian co-conspirators who commented : wow kids..this is what happens when you smoke too much shit Not too far off there either I think but its a damned catchy little number with interesting visuals [...] Not the usual musical interlude but a pretty damned good effort using two balloons and a wooden box. _ Ballon Bass And Box Jam – Watch more Funny [...] Madder Mortem from Norway. Where dream and day collide. Brilliant! _ Depression reigns I’m afraid so have a little music while I kick myself some more for inspiration. _  |
