BBC raising your council taxes.

by | Jan 31, 2010 | UK Misery, Well I never.

Whilst roaming on the BBC website I came across this article about councils paying for corrections to mis-spelled roadsigns. It would appear that some BBC wonk decided to submit FOI requests to all councils to determine how much corrections to roadsigns were costing taxpayers.

Most of the examples given are in the range of a few hundred pounds and, in the general scheme of council budgets, are probably less than most councils expenditure on official meeting biscuit provisions. Of greater interest to me is just how much these frivolous requests cost us both in terms of council employee time and in terms of paying some BBC twat who is obviously bored out of his or her tiny skull.
