Call me what you like, but I firmly believe that a country should ensure the health and wellbeing of its own people before looking to spend money on others.

In the UK where we have elderly people dying from cold in their own homes because they cannot afford the fuel bills our wonderful government is committed to spending $12.98 BILLION dollars on overseas aid. To put that into perspective, it’s around $500 for every single employed person in the UK.

The question I ask myself is why the fucking fuck do we do this? Did we vote for it or tick some box somewhere that says lets piss our own money all over the world (whilst inviting half of them to set up here closer to the Labour teat).

Oxfam are kicking up a stink :

Aid agency Oxfam described such “broken promises” as “a scandal”.

They are complaining that some countries are not giving enough money. Could this be the same Oxfam who spent (pdf) £28.8 million administering the distribution of £207 million in aid? I am not surprised at their disappointment – they were obviously looking forward to attaching their leech like suckers onto an even bigger pot of taxpayers money.

Naturally, we have Commissar G Brown (UK communist gobshite party) opining on the issue :

“I do not believe there can be any excuse for denying money promised to the poorest people on our planet.”

On this occasion I really wish our beloved leader would fuck off back to Scotland and stop trying to spend every last fucking penny we have.
