Damned fine piece of parking but how the hell do you get it out again?

An apparent world record piece of parking on the video below with a German guy getting his car into a space just 10 inches longer than the car. Not a technique that would endear you to the plod but pretty impressive none the less.

My only thought here is how the hell do you get it out again without a long wait for one of the others to move?

The driver in the photo below could do with taking a few lessons I think after managing to crash into the only object in the entire empty parking lot :

He somehow he managed to avoid the massive amounts of empty space in the car park, and drive his white Mitsubishi Galant straight into the only obstacle in sight, Blick reported.

Railway worker Sascha Aebischer, who was working in a nearby office, said: ‘I had to laugh because he was the first there and could have parked anywhere.’

Brit Russ Swift has been doing that for years…

Back in the 80’s I visited Paris, and was astonished to see their parking methods. It was commonplace to watch a Renault 5 or similar being shunted into a very small gap – and by “shunted” I mean literally bumper to bumper, and even deliberately pushing the other cars, if necessary! And it didn’t matter what the other cars were, either – Porsche, BMW, etc, they were all game.

microdave – I have seen that French technique employed a few times in the local supermarket car park, usually by “busy moms” in their too-big-for-them-to-drive-safely four by fours. You know the kind when you see someone perched birdlike behind the wheel with a determined far-distance stare on their face while their brood sit some distance behind in the barn like interior.

I saw Russ Swift myself a few years ago at some show or other – damned good entertainment 🙂
