Hitting a moose with your car is always a possibility when driving in Europe but being hit by a flying moose that has just been launched into the air by a car on the other side of the road is just downright unlucky :

They don’t half make a mess when they land – look closely at the video as well for the damage on the other car which launched the moose – headaches all round I think.
I downloaded that and played it back frame by frame with VLC media player. The Volvo 240 (I think) coming the other way at the start looks as if it has hit the moose as well. The bonnet appears to be partly raised and the kerbside wing damaged. I have feeling it struck the moose a glancing blow, and it then staggered into the path of the next car, which sent it flying…
microdave – Thankyou for taking the time to have a look and post your findings – I buggered about with youtube pause a little to try and work out exactly what was happening as it seems to appear out of nowhere on first viewing. 🙂
I was wondering how the moose got such a good launch from the second car – if it was stunned and not moving much then that would explain how it managed to get such a good launch to the other side of the road.
Having seen a few full grown ones while I was in Estonia a few weeks ago, that one doesn’t look like an adult which is probably a good job for all involved – the big ones usually just snap off at the legs and go straight through the car taking the occupants (heads) into the back with it.
Better not let Bucko see this. Takes ‘fuel injected moose’ a bit too far.
